This house was designed to fit on a very narrow and deep lot without the large size house to overpower the adjacent more modest house sizes. By dematerializing the corners of the wall below the overhanging roof floats and the house appears less massive.

 

The house was set nearer to the front than to the rear of the yard in order to be able to preserve trees.

 

Appendages to the house reach into the beautiful backyard to increase the interweaving between interior and exterior spaces.

By being wider at the bottom than at the top the stairs and the space around it appear to be much larger than they are.
