Green Renovation to Newton home,
a typical center entrance colonial,
using all environmentally friendly materials and methods.
This renovation has much improved the thermal and environmental
comfort without being extravagant or without using
untested materials or systems. Low VOC, healthy and
resource efficient materials were used through out.
The
green renovation's result is a
house with at least 50% to 60% reduction in energy costs. The
home has a much higher thermal comfortable and has healthy indoor air quality.
Spaces were reconfigured to make the house feel more
spacious and well lit. With this strategy an addition, that
the client thought was necessary, was not
needed.
The
project is being featured in the TV show “Green Home Renovation”.
