The design for elderly housing creates an environment that allows for independent living as well as
community interaction. The layout of individual units as well as the
organization of the development as a whole creates the atmosphere of a
collection of homes and not an institutional
elderly housing development.
Our design includes eleven fully independent
apartments, a shared community living room, dining room and kitchen, a
caretaker’s apartment, and a management office. The building plan is
T-shaped to minimize the mass from the street while at the same time
maximizing privacy and light in each unit. The development is accessible and has
garages and parking.
