This oversized
home was brought back to its original elegance by remodeling and renovation. By
subdividing
this 10,000 SF single family Colonial Revival house, we were able to
create two generous independent attached houses, while at the same time preserving
the beautiful spaces and historic details of the house.
House One revolves around an expansive two-story hallway,
paneled in oak, and with a
large marble fireplace. Around this central hallway with its gracious
proportions and details carefully preserved, ten rooms are arranged to
accommodate the needs of a four person family and an independent office suite
for the adults.
House Two
is arranged on four levels including a large attic where we exposed
and restored intricate timberwork.
The addition of an inverted dormer/balcony
brings in natural daylight and panoramic views
of Boston.
